"A Priest is Above all...a Man of Prayer" - St. John Vianney

Let yourself be summoned by the love of Christ, recognize his voice which rings in the temple of your heart. Have no fear of the fact that the response he requires is radical, because Jesus, who first loved you, is ready to give what he asks of you. If he asks much it is because he knows that you can give much. - Pope John Paul II

Prayer Suggestions...

  • Pray a Rosary or Chaplet of Divine Mercy daily or as often as you are able with the intention being for an increase in vocations to the priesthood, religious life, and other Church vocations.
  • Using your own words, pray to the Lord of the harvest for more laborers.
  • Receive Communion or attend Mass with a vocation intention.
  • When suffering, in pain or loneliness, offer your suffering for a vocation intention. Jesus did the same on the Cross when he offered his suffering for the sins of each human being.
  • Perform some act of penance or mortification, fasting from food, coffee, television, radio, etc., for vocation intentions.
  • Pray that our young people may hear God's calling and respond generously.
  • Pray for seminarians, novices, and those in discernment that they may know the Lord's will for their lives and have the courage to follow it.
  • Pray for clergy and religious that they may courageously follow their calling.
  • Thank God for calling people to serve you and His Church.

Atlanta Archdiocese Vocations Prayer

God, our Father, we turn to You in this time of great need.

We trust in your loving kindness and ask You to hear the prayers we offer for Your Church. Through your grace we seek men and women willing to generously offer their lives to You in the priesthood and religious life, for You inspire and bring to fulfillment every good intention.

Bless and guide those who are discerning Your call to holiness and service. Give them courage, steadfast love, and a spirit of charity as they seek to respond faithfully to You.

We offer this prayer for the Archdiocese of Atlanta and for the whole Church in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is Lord for ever and ever.
